“No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.”  — Winston Churchill

As a national-level equestrian competitor, I understand first-hand the importance of equestrian conditioning. Riding multiple times a week does not automatically translate into being in top condition. Just as a football, baseball, or basketball player trains in the gym to maintain and manipulate the ball, you must train your body to successfully manage your “equipment” – which happens to be living, breathing, and thinking. Fitness Unleashed’s Fit-2-Ride Equestrian Cross Training Programs will train you to peak performance allowing you to use your body to its greatest potential on your horse.

Fit-2-Ride Equestrian Conditioning Fitness Program Rider With that said, not all conditioning programs are created equally. Riding uses particular muscles and movement patterns different from other sports, and, as a result, requires rider-specific training. In other words, equestrian fitness programs performed out of the saddle are tailored to enhance your skills as a rider in the saddle. This type of training develops core stability, balance, strength/endurance, and flexibility/suppleness while improving seat/posture, aids/cues, muscle imbalances, body awareness/coordination, and cardiovascular endurance. The total conditioning approach results in overall fitness and injury prevention while maximizing performance.

The goal of the Fit-2-Ride Equestrian Training program is to improve your communication as a rider, leading to increased performance from you and your horse.

Fit-2-Ride’s Equestrian Coaching is all provided online. This method gives you the best of everything – time to ride and workout

Online coaching allows me to work with people across the globe within their budget and time frame. Here are just a few reasons that I have chosen to offer my fitness program online…

  • Fund Your Horse Habit: Monthly in-person training can cost as much or even more as monthly board. This can add up quickly! My online training packages are extremely affordable and keep more money in your pocket to spend on your horse habit.
  • No More Working Around a Trainer’s Schedule: Let’s face it, time riding is your number one priority. Finding a workable time to regularly meet your personal trainer and hit the gym can be difficult. Online training allows you to work around your schedule, giving you more time to horse around. You don’t need to work around your trainer’s schedule and you don’t need to reschedule anything!
  • As Flexible As You Are: Your program is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No matter when you want to work out, your program will be there to guide you. Do you want to exercise at a gym? Go ahead. How about at home with your own equipment? That’s fine too. At a horse show but still want to get some exercise in? That’s great! No matter where you are, no matter what you’re doing, your program is there for you.
  • Your Trainer Is An Equestrian: When you work out with a local personal trainer, you’ll usually end up with the next available trainer, not someone that is an equestrian. Working out with me ensures you are working with someone who knows what it means to be an equestrian.

Have I got your attention?

I have been showing for 32 years and started working out with Laura from Fit-2-Ride about seven months to get ready for the 2014 show season. I show competitively in Working Cow Horse, Hunter Pleasure, and Western Pleasure. Last year I noticed after my Cow Horse rides I was out of breath or after my Hunt classes my legs would be a little fatigued. After spending time with Laura I cannot believe the difference in how I feel this year. Not only did I lose weight and inches, but my legs are stronger, my posture is much better and I no longer breathe hard after a ride. Fit-2-Ride has made a huge difference with my 2014 show season physically and mentally.
